What struck me was the range of experiences: hiking, the open-air Edge Sanctuary, the farm-to-table food, and a whiskey tasting at a mountaintop yurt stocked with High West whiskey distilled right there on the property.
The rescued horses at the Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation were what stayed with me, though. You learn to forge a lasting connection with them, while brushing them and walking them through their mobility work. I've ridden since I was a child, and that was the first time I truly connected with a horse.
